About Bob

Bob combines top-level hospitality experience with superb wine knowledge and an engaging personality to become the perfect wine tasting leader.  His career includes managing Sheraton City Centre, Washington, DC, DoubleTree Pentagon Hotel, VA, Radisson Resort Scottsdale, AZ, , Snowbowl Ski Resort, Flagstaff, AZ, Big Cedar Lodge, Branson, MO, The Ohioan Hotel & Conference Center, Columbus, OH and the legendary Molly Pitcher Inn, Red Bank, NJ.  Bob has played host to U.S. Presidents Reagan and Clinton, political leaders, movie stars, athletes, entertainers and corporate executives.

Later, as CEO of Monica Hospitality Solutions, he owned a retail wine store, wine bistro, four-star dining restaurant and catering facility.  All, very popular and highly rated by critics.  Now, in retirement, he serves as sommelier, teacher, speaker and entertainer.  

Bob has received many awards, and his list of satisfied corporate clients reads like a Who’s Who of American industry, including BMW, Cardinal Health, Chase, DuPont, Merrill Lynch, Nationwide and Sodexo North America (Complete Client List).  Since moving to Florida he focuses exclusively on hosting wine tastings for residential communities, corporate sponsors, wine clubs and private parties throughout Florida.

Bob’s Two Passions – People and Wine!

Wine Guy Bob has a way with people. His presentations are laced with amusing antidotes, without any  sense of pretense, reflect his college training at Boston Conservatory of Music.  He also holds the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification, the highest awarded by the American Hotel & Lodging Association through Michigan State University.  Clearly he knows his stuff, but his easy-to-understand style marks him as a trusted wine instructor.

Bob believes in giving back to the community, creating major charitable wine events including Romancing the Grape (Easter Seals), A Bouquet of Flavours (Creative Living) and the Dublin Irish Festival. The Dublin (OH) Chamber of Commerce recognized his outstanding contributions as Business Person of the Year.

Today, he serves as an independent consultant for major producers, distributors, importers and consortiums.  As Wine Guy Bob he hosts engaging tastings and classes for folks who enjoy exploring new appellations and vintages.  His unique talent for combining a lighthearted approach with innovative wine offerings is his personal signature.
